Animal Description

About the Bullfrog (Rana Catesbeiana)

Typically heard before it is seen, the American Bullfrog is native to the southern wetlands of North America, Asia, and Europe but can generally be found anywhere with a temperate climate. The Bullfrog specifies any large, “aggressive” frog species. Their backs are usually olive green in color, with lighter lime-green around their arms and lips, with a fat, white, and yellow speckled belly. Their jowls inflate like a balloon when they “croak,” and their chorus is often the soundtrack to most camping trips in the summer.
