This is a beautiful desert mule deer taxidermy shoulder mount, posed in an upright position looking to the viewers right out into the room. This buck has a nice set of antlers which achieve a rough score of 115″! The hide and hair are both in great condition, and the taxidermy work and craftsmanship are excellent as well. All of this combined has helped this item achieve our Excellent Plus™ overall quality rating. All applicable dimensions are included to help ensure this item will fit within your intended display space.

Animal Description

About the Desert Mule Deer (Odocoileus hemionus crooki)

The Desert Mule Deer is native to the Mojave and Sonoran deserts of Southwestern United States, stretching into northern Mexico. This subspecies of mule deer is a very active forager, feeding with the ever-changing availability of water and forbs. Not only do these deer move with the food they also tend to migrate within the seasons. Observations of populations have noticed a trend in migratory patterns in riparian woodlands in the spring and early summer months followed by late summer migration to the desert mountains flourishing with new growth.
