About the Arctic Char (Salvelinus alpinus)
The Arctic Char is a cold-water fish found in the Arctic and Alpine lake locations throughout the world. The Arctic Char can be found further north into Freezing Arctic temperatures than any other freshwater fish in the world. They feed on insects, roe, crustaceans, and small fish up to approximately 30% of their size. The Arctic Char is closely related to the Salmon and The Lake Trout, sharing many of the same attributes.
