About the Arapawa Ram (Ovis aries)
These rams are found strictly in New Zealand and have been there since introduction in 1867. This species is found in very steep terrain and its body is fit to that demand. This sheep has a very light build with long legs allowing them to be very mobile and active in the rough terrain. This species is now being domesticated and is being primarily raised for its wool coat.
