This is an incredible Mule Deer taxidermy shoulder mount, posed in a semi-upright position looking slightly to the viewers left out into the room. This amazing mule deer features a great coat of hair, a unique arrow in its antler, and a great set of antlers which achieve an SCI Silver Medal with a score of 168 6/8″. Having a broadhead lodged into its antler is unique and adds to the overall character of the buck. All of this combined has helped this item earn our prestigious Premier Star™ overall quality rating. All applicable dimensions are included to help ensure this item will fit within your intended display space.

– We did not put the broadhead into the antler. With careful observation, it is clear that this broadhead became embedded into the antler while the antler was developing and in velvet.

– This Mule Deer exceeds the Safari Club International Silver Medal trophy book score requirement.

– This item has a hanger fastened to the back.

– The item will hang on a properly anchored drywall screw.

Animal Description

About the Mule Deer (Odocoileus hemionus)

The Mule Deer (Odocoileus hemionus) is one of the more commonly recognized animals in all of North America. The male mule deer is often referred to as a ‘Buck” and can grow to 300 lbs producing antlers that are fully grown and shed once each year. The antlers they produce differ from the whitetail deer, with two ‘forks’ on each side being the most common growth pattern, totaling 8 points. Mule deer are hunted in most western areas of the United States, with trophy-class antlered males being the most desirable. Their habitat includes everything from the open prairie to mountainous terrain and wooded forests, making them extremely adaptable to various surroundings. Mule deer have a specialized stomach that allows them to eat plants, shoots, and grass for nutrition.
