About the Wolverine (Gulo gulo)
Though they resemble what looks like a miniature bear, the wolverine is actually the largest species in the weasel family and can be found throughout the northernmost forested areas of North America, Europe, and Asia. The wolverine is omnivorous but prefers meat and will often travel up to 15 miles in a single day in search of prey. The wolverine’s fur is thick and well insulated, dark brown with a light-brown hue along its sides. Its long claws are used for burrowing as well as self-defense and hunting.
