About the Vervet Monkey (Chlorocebus pygerythrus)
The vervet monkey is a medium-large sized monkey found through eastern Africa. The vervet has a brownish-olive fur coloration, and their tails are often longer than their bodies, finished with a black tip. The vervet monkey is at home in the trees and prefers to feed on fruits, seeds, and insects. They have small black hands, feet, and faces, surrounded by grey/white fur and their heads and cheeks. The vervet will rarely be spotted alone since they usually commune in troops, ranging from 12 to 50 individuals.
