For sale, we have a beautiful Ocellated Turkey taxidermy bird mount, posed flying to the viewer’s left. This turkey features iridescent plumage, the classic blue head, and good taxidermy craftsmanship. This turkey also features spurs that measure 1 9/16″ and 1 10/16″, which is good enough to earn a Safari Club International Gold Medal with a score of 31 14/16″. This would look great on any wall!  If you are looking for an Ocellated turkey for your collection or are looking to complete the world turkey slam, then you just found the perfect piece. All applicable measurements and dimensions are provided in the specifications section to help ensure this item will fit within your intended space, as well as meet expectations regarding the item’s featured attribute sizes, scores, etc.

Animal Description

About the Ocellated Turkey (Meleagris ocellata)

The Ocellated Turkey is native to the Yukitan Peninsula. The body feathers are generally black to dark brown in coloration with a coppery iridescence that becomes more pronounced in adult males. The Tom (Male) Turkey has a large, featherless red-colored head, throat, and wattle. The males have a set of large tail feathers that can be ‘fanned’ upward when strutting, as well as spurs that can reach upwards of 2″. Wild Turkeys can grow up to 45 inches in length and often weigh between 10-20 lbs.
