For sale, we have a magnificent Ocellated Turkey taxidermy bird mount, posed full strut on a walnut base. This turkey features stunning iridescent plumage, the classic bright blue head, and a pair of spurs that measure 1 6/16″ and 1 9/16″ that help this turkey earn an SCI Silver Medal with a score of 29 6/16″. All applicable measurements and dimensions are provided in the specifications section to help ensure this item will fit within your intended space, as well as meet expectations regarding the item’s featured attribute sizes, scores, etc.

Animal Description

About the Ocellated Turkey (Meleagris ocellata)

The Ocellated Turkey is native to the Yukitan Peninsula. The body feathers are generally black to dark brown in coloration with a coppery iridescence that becomes more pronounced in adult males. The Tom (Male) Turkey has a large, featherless red-colored head, throat, and wattle. The males have a set of large tail feathers that can be ‘fanned’ upward when strutting, as well as spurs that can reach upwards of 2″. Wild Turkeys can grow up to 45 inches in length and often weigh between 10-20 lbs.
