This is literally the largest black bear rug we have ever seen. Words do not do this black bear justice. Its proportions are as large as a mature brown bear. Go ahead, we invite you to compare the dimensions of this black bear rug to any of the brown bear or grizzly bear rugs we have in stock. This bear is simply that big. Aside from the size, this rug features a realistic raised head with an open mouth pose. Great attention to detail and artisitc talent was poured into this rug and that should not be overlooked despite the shadow this massive bear casts upon all other features. This rug is finished with a clean and matching black and choclate felt border, and a thick grey fabric backing, which provides durability and protection against wear. The hide & hair are in terrific shape, as is the expert-quality craftsmanship, earning this item our Premier™ overall quality rating. All applicable dimensions are included to help ensure this item will fit within your intended display space.

About the Black Bear (Ursus americanus)

Black Bears are North America’s most common and familiar type of bear. Typically found in wooded areas, black bears are native to North America, though most can be found in Canada and the northern United States. The black bear’s diet consists mainly of fruit, plants, and insects, though they also eat fish and small mammals. As the name implies, most of these bears are entirely black, although some can appear cinnamon in color. Males typically weigh in around 300 lbs, while females are usually closer to half that. Weight fluctuates depending on the season, and black bear usually weighs 30% more just before their winter hibernation.
