The Fox Squirrel (also know as the Eastern Fox Squirrel) is the largest tree squirrell in North America than the Fox squirrel. It is one of the few mammals in the world that can climb down a tree head first by rotating its rear feet backwards and digging in its claws to prevent slipping. It can grow up to 28 inches long and weigh up to 2.2 pounds. The Fox squirrel likes to hoard its food into many hidden groups, where it can be retrieved days or even months later to be eaten. Fox squirrels also spend more time on the ground than other squirrel species.
