About the ‘Hybrid’ Sheep (Ovis Hybrid)
Corsican (or Mouflon) is often the general name for hybrid sheep, typically crossed between a common sheep (Ovis aries) and any of the following (reported, but not confirmed): Bighorn, Dahl, Argali, or European Mouflon. This wide range of hybrid and subsequent crossing has led to many ‘named’ types of of sheep such as the “Texas Dall”, “Black Hawaiian”, “Barbados”, etc. Beautiful colors and exotic horn sizes/shapes result in a wide variety of appearances within this class of sheep.
