About the Columbian Blacktail Deer (Odocoileus hemionus columbianus)
The Columbian Blacktail Deer (Odocoileus hemionus columbianus) can be found in the Northwestern United States. The male blacktail deer is often referred to as a ‘Buck” and can grow to 300 lbs producing antlers that are fully grown and shed once each year. Blacktail deer are a popular game animal, with trophy-class antlered males being the most desirable.
