This beautiful case is jam-packed with authentic pieces of the mountain man era. The centerpiece of this case is an authentic circa 1790s horse hair coat worn by a trapper that worked the creeks and shorelines of Hudson Bay Manitoba. This coat features comfortable sheep wool cuffs and collar trimming, a fine silk inner lining and wooden toggle buttons. Also displayed in this case is an early 1800’s Houllier Blanchard, Paris 12 gauge double barrel percussion shotgun, an ancient pair of buckskin riding chaps and mittens, a powder horn, a deer antler powder primer, an original Bowie knife, as well as a cast iron pot, tin cup, and a hand-carved wooden spoon.
