    About the American Buffalo (Bison bison)

    The Buffalo (aka Bison) is a North American species native to the grasslands of North America. Today they can be found in various locations throughout the world, including private ranches. This very large member of the bovine family can grow to over 2000 lbs, with its diet consisting mainly of plains grasses. The male’s horns are black and tend to grow horizontally away from the head, curling near the tip.
