About the African Warthog (Phacochoerus africanus)
The warthog is a wild member of the pig family that get’s its namesake from the “warts” that cover its large, flat head. Though they may not be the most attractive mammal on the planet, the warthog is generally docile, preferring to avoid confrontation while it grazes for vegetation in the grassland and savannah climates of Africa. The warthog is usually slate grey in color, with black and dark brown hair upon the top of its head and draped across it’s back. The warthog is probably most famous for its four razor sharp tusks, which are useful in combat, but primarily reserved for digging and navigating brush.
