This is a great African Sable taxidermy shoulder mount, positioned with left a turn, and looking to it’s right side out into the room. The horns have a length of 35 6/8″+ earning a SCI Score of 90 5/8″. The craftsmanship is fantastic as well, earning this item our Nice Plus™ overall quality rating. All applicable dimensions are included to help ensure this item will fit within your intended display space.

Animal Description

About the Sable (Hippotragus Niger)

The African Common Sable is a large species of antelope found in the southeastern region of Africa. Their habitat includes savannas, grasslands, and woodlands, where they eat grasses and vegetation. Sable may grow to nearly 600 lbs with horns that curve up and backward from their head with many ridges. Their coloration is dark brown (nearly black) on the back and upper neck with creamy white underbelly, chin, and face markings. Males are very territorial, and only 1 male Bull will be found in a herd at a time. When a herd gets too large and breaks into smaller groups, bachelor males will compete for the head position in the ‘new herd.’
