This is an outstanding Reproduction Sockeye Salmon taxidermy fish mount, posed with an open mouth, facing the viewer’s left side. This Sockeye is 29″ in length, 21″ in girth, and had a live weight of 15 lbs. The painting is phenomenal, some would almost mistake this for a live fish! All of this combines to help this item earn our Premier™ overall quality rating. All applicable dimensions are included to help ensure this item will fit within your intended display space.

– There is a hanger already attached to the back of this item.

Animal Description

About the Sockeye Salmon (Oncorhynchus nerka)

The Sockeye Salmon (also known as the “Red Salmon”) is a salmon species typically found in the northern Pacific Ocean, as well as the brackish rivers and inlets where the sockeye travels to spawn and eventually die. Once its young have grown big enough, they travel from the freshwater rivers back to the saltwater of the Pacific, where they grow up to 80 cm in length. Their color while in the Pacific is generally a silver-grey, but they turn deep red, with green heads, when they travel to the rivers to spawn.
