For sale, we have a beautiful Sable back hide taxidermy rug. This rug has been professionally tanned and features a tan fabric backing, a rolled black fabric accent border. It can be displayed on the floor or the back of a couch. Foot traffic is not recommended as it can damage the hair. All applicable measurements and dimensions are provided in the specifications section to help ensure this item will fit within your intended space, as well as meet expectations regarding the item’s featured attribute sizes, scores, etc.

– This item is ideally used as a ‘throw’ rug over the back of a couch or chair.

– This item may be hung on the wall as well (hanger not included) or can be placed on the floor.

– This rug has been professionally cleaned!

Animal Description

About the Sable (Hippotragus Niger)

The African Common Sable is a large species of antelope found in the southeastern region of Africa. Their habitat includes savannas, grasslands, and woodlands, where they eat grasses and vegetation. Sable may grow to nearly 600 lbs with horns that curve up and backward from their head with many ridges. Their coloration is dark brown (nearly black) on the back and upper neck with creamy white underbelly, chin, and face markings. Males are very territorial, and only 1 male Bull will be found in a herd at a time. When a herd gets too large and breaks into smaller groups, bachelor males will compete for the head position in the ‘new herd.’
