This is a great African Cape Buffalo shoulder taxidermy mount. It is posed with the head in a sneak position (head height below the top of the shoulder) looking straight forward out into the room. This mount is great for those looking to hang the buffalo at approximately 10 feet or higher on the wall. The horns on this Buffalo have an phenomenal outside spread of 45″ and a boss width of 11″+, with a SCI score of 92 0/8″. It has well done taxidermy work, earning our Nice Plus™ overall quality rating. All applicable dimensions are included to help ensure this item will fit within your intended display space.

– There is a hanger already attached to the back side of this item.

– It will hang on a single properly anchored drywall screw.

Animal Description

About the Cape Buffalo (Syncerus caffer caffer)

The cape buffalo thrives in virtually all variations of grassland habitats throughout sub-Saharan Africa, from lowland floodplains to dry savannah. The adult cape buffalo has a relatively thin black coat, while calves usually have a browner coat in color. The horns of the cape buffalo are unique in their design, as they actually “fuse” at the crown of the skull, which is referred to as the “boss.” From the base, the horns turn down and then bend up back towards the crown of the skull.
