This is a great African Cape Buffalo shoulder taxidermy mount. It is posed with the head in a sneak position (head slightly below the top shoulder level) looking straight forward out into the room. The horns on this Buffalo have an impressive outside spread of 36.375″ and 11.5″+ boss’s, with a score of 95 5/8″. It has great quality hair (for its species) and very well done taxidermy work, earning our exceptional Premier Plus™ overall quality rating. All applicable dimensions are included to help ensure this item will fit within your intended display space.

About the Cape Buffalo (Syncerus caffer caffer)

The cape buffalo thrives in virtually all variations of grassland habitats throughout sub-Saharan Africa, from lowland floodplains to dry savannah. The adult cape buffalo has a relatively thin black coat, while calves usually have a browner coat in color. The horns of the cape buffalo are unique in their design, as they actually “fuse” at the crown of the skull, which is referred to as the “boss.” From the base, the horns turn down and then bend up back towards the crown of the skull.
