This is a beautiful Atlantic Salmon taxidermy fish mount, posed with an open mouth facing the viewer’s right side. This salmon has a length of 23.5″, a girth of 13″, and an estimated live weight of 4.75 lbs. This fish is stunning. The fins are in great condition, the painting is excellent, and the craftsmanship is amazing. The colors in this piece are outstanding and will mesmerize you. All of this combined has helped this item earn our Excellent Plus™ rating. All applicable dimensions are included to help ensure this item will fit within your intended display space.

About the Atlantic Salmon (Salmo salar)

The Atlantic salmon is a member of the Salmonidae family native to the North Atlantic. The Atlantic Salmon is the largest member of the genus Salmo with lengths upwards of 30 in. This species spends parts of its life in both fresh and saltwater. This occurs when the fish are spawning, and the eggs will utilize yolk nutrients until it runs out, then they will spend time growing until they make the long migration to the Atlantic. After sexual maturity is reached, the fish migrate back to their breeding grounds to repeat the cycle. With that being said, they display different colors when in freshwater versus saltwater. They will show a red/blue dot pattern in the freshwater phase, but they take on a silvery-blue coloring once they reach the Atlantic.
