About the Thomson’s Gazelle (Eudorcas thomsonii)

The Thomson’s Gazelle can be found in the Eastern regions of Africa. It is one of the most beautiful of all gazelles, with a very distinctive and handsome pattern. The hair coloration is sandy brown on top with a creamy underbelly and a black ‘stripe’ running from the front shoulder to the hind flank. Males may grow to over 75 lbs, with females growing to nearly 60 lbs. The horns of the Thomson’s Gazelle resemble others of the species, with a parallel pair of black ‘ringed’ horns curving slightly backward initially and forward near the tip.
