About the Cape Grysbok (Raphicerus melanotis)

The Cape or ‘southern’ Grysbok is a small antelope species native to the Western Cape region of South Africa. Its appearance is typically ruddy fawn in color, with the darkest hues appearing on the back and sides and down the center of its face. Their underbellies are usually cream in color as well. The grysbok sports two small horns that grow straight up from the tops of their heads. They are grazers, when it comes to their diet, and often pick berries and small leaves for nourishment.
