About the Sacramento Perch (Archoplites interruptus)
Sacramento perch are native to the freshwaters of California, where they are seen as a predator to other smaller fish. These fish demonstrate sexual dimorphism in the way of size. Females are often much larger than males and become sexually mature in 2-3 years. Once at the adult stage, these fish tend to grow more in weight than they do in length. These fish are very adaptable to harsh environments ranging from high temps, saline levels, turbidity, and low water clarity.
