About the Palomino Trout (Oncorhynchus Mykiss)
The Palomino Trout is a hybrid between a Rainbow Trout and a West Virginia Golden Trout. They are also known as the Golden Rainbow Trout. The Benner Spring Research Station in Bellefonte, Center Country, was the primary laboratory where this hybrid originated. They grow up to nearly 13 pounds. The Palomino Trout can be found in most lakes, rivers, and streams in Pennsylvania. Since it is not commonly found in places other than Pennsylvania, it is one rare trout found in streams.
