This is a great Parakeet taxidermy bird mount. It is posed flying, attached to a walnut plaque, facing the viewer’s left side. Animal Description

About the Parakeet (Melopsittacus undulatus)

The parakeet is a species of parrot native to the open woodlands of Australia. Naturally, the birds are a greenish-yellow with black markings. These have been bred to have color variations through captive breeding, including blues, whites, yellows, and greys. Interestingly enough, this is the third most popular pet in the world behind cats and dogs. Not only that but male parakeets are recognized as one of the top five talking champions amongst the parrot species. Wild birds are an average of 7” long and have an average weight of 30-40 oz. Parakeets are known as small flock species but can also form large flocks in certain conditions.
