This is an incredible African Cape Buffalo shoulder taxidermy mount. It is posed with the head in a semi-upright position looking to the viewer’s right side out into the room. The horns on this Buffalo have an impressive tip-to-tip measurement for 80 2/8″ and combine to achieve a Safari Club International Gold Medal with a score of 114 6/8″. In addition, it has great hair quality and expert-quality taxidermy work, earning our coveted Premier Plus™ overall quality rating. All applicable dimensions are included to help ensure this item will fit within your intended display space.

About the Cape Buffalo (Syncerus caffer caffer)

The cape buffalo thrives in virtually all variations of grassland habitats throughout sub-Saharan Africa, from lowland floodplains to dry savannah. The adult cape buffalo has a relatively thin black coat, while calves usually have a browner coat in color. The horns of the cape buffalo are unique in their design, as they actually “fuse” at the crown of the skull, which is referred to as the “boss.” From the base, the horns turn down and then bend up back towards the crown of the skull.
