This is truly a piece of history! This Black Bear taxidermy head mount is an old mount, positioned with an open mouth and looking straight out into the room and is attached to a classic wood plaque. A mount like this is one that reminds you of the early ages of taxidermy. The black bear had an estimated live weight of around 150 lbs. It has decent hide quality and great fur, combined with classic taxidermy craftsmanship, earning this item our Vintage™ overall rating. All applicable dimensions are included to help ensure this item will fit within your intended display space.

– There is already a hanger attached to the back of this item.

About the Black Bear (Ursus americanus)

Black Bears are North America’s most common and familiar type of bear. Typically found in wooded areas, black bears are native to North America, though most can be found in Canada and the northern United States. The black bear’s diet consists mainly of fruit, plants, and insects, though they also eat fish and small mammals. As the name implies, most of these bears are entirely black, although some can appear cinnamon in color. Males typically weigh in around 300 lbs, while females are usually closer to half that. Weight fluctuates depending on the season, and black bear usually weighs 30% more just before their winter hibernation.
